Rates For Using The St. Benedict Church

Couples seeking to book St. Benedict Church in Silang, Cavite must prepare Php 28,000 for the usage of the church with air conditioning or Php 23,000 for usage without the use of air conditioning.

The rates are inclusive of the two hours of church use for the duration of the Eucharistic matrimonial celebration and pictorial; church lighting system; church audio and video systems; wedding chairs and kneelers for the wedding couple; use of red carpet; and two wedding candles at the altar. The fee for the marriage certificate is also included in the aforementioned rates.

Soon-to-wed couples can book the church on 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every day except on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesday mornings.

Required Documents Prior The Wedding Day at St. Benedict Church

St. Benedict Church in Silang mandates couples to apply for the wedding four months prior the event with the following requirements:

  1. Canonical Interview. The couple is required to undergo a canonical interview with the parish priest. Kindly coordinate with the parish office for the schedule.   2. Pre-Cana Seminar. The couple should attend the seminar set by the parish. Baptismal and Confirmation Certificates. Both parties must acquire these from their respective parishes where they have received the sacrament of baptism and/or confirmation. The certificate must have been issued within six months before the wedding and state "For MARRIAGE PURPOSE only".

  3. If couple is not civilly married and living in with each other for less than five years, they must secure a marriage license from the municipal office of the municipality where groom or bride resides. It should have a validity of 120 days. Kindly submit the photocopy of your CENOMARs along with the Marriage License as well.

    If the couple is already civilly married, they must secure a NSO/PSA copy of their marriage contract.

    If the couple are 25 years old and above and living in with each other for five years or more, both parties must secure a CENOMAR and an affidavit of co-habitation (from a lawyer, and should be notarized).

  4. Marriage Banns (for the groom). This is if the groom does not live within the territorial jurisdiction of St. Benedict Church. The banns should be posted for three consecutive Sundays at the parish of the groom. After three weeks, the groom will get the reply slip (with the signature of the parish priest). It will be submitted along with the other documents.

    Marriage Banns and Permission (for the bride). This is if the bride does not live within the territorial jurisdiction of St. Benedict Church. The Banns and Permission should be posted for three consecutive Sundays at the parish of the bride. After three weeks, the bride will get the reply slip, with the signature of the parish priest (her parish). It will be submitted along with the other documents.

    Kindly inform and submit a copy to the parish office if you have a pre-nuptial agreement or marriage settlement (the said document should be submitted to the LCR-Municipal Office of Silang, Cavite, for registration along with the Marriage Certificate).

  5. Submit four copies of 2 x 2 pictures on the day of your canonical interview. Please write your name at the back of the pictures.

  6. A copy of the complete list of major or principal sponsors should be provided two months before the wedding.

  7. Thirty (30) days before the wedding date, the couple should review the marriage contract for accuracy noting spelling errors, etc. The parish office will not be held liable for any mistakes if the couple failed to review the certificate of marriage.

  8. The couple is required to take the sacrament of reconciliation (confession) with the St. Benedict Church parish priest at least a week or days before the wedding day.

    Meanwhile, additional requirements are needed for foreign couples.

    For not civilly married: the couple should submit this document aside from the Marriage License, the Affidavit/s of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage from their respective Embassy in the Philippines of Certificate from the DFA if they have no embassy in the Philippines.

    Civilly married: if the marriage is recognized by the Philippine government, submit an NSO copy of marriage contract; if the marriage is recognized by the country of nationality of the foreigner party, submit a certification from the said government or embassy.

    For mixed marriages (marriage between a Catholic and non-Catholic party) or disparity of cult (Catholic and non - Christian/atheist party): a promise and Declaration form have to be filled up in the parish office during the Canonical interview and to be submitted to the Chancery Office (Bishop's House - City of Imus, Cavite) for approval of the Bishop.

Wedding Reservation and Other Policies

  1. All reservations are on a first come first serve basis. A non-refundable downpayment of Php 10,000 shall be required to be paid as follows: Php 5,000 to reserve a date and another Php 5,000 right after the canonical interview. The policy of no downpayment, no reservation is strictly followed. The church also does not allow third party reservation.

  2. Remaining balance for wedding fee should be settled at least 30 days prior to the wedding date.

  3. All documents as listed (#3-7) must be submitted no less than 30 days before the wedding date.

  4. The parish will only allow the use of the standard Marriage Ritual with no modification in the Marriage Guide Missalette. The couple will be provided a list of all the readings from which you will be able to choose. Please choose your readers and assign your commentator.

  5. Since there is no provision for a choir, the couple's choice of singer and organist is welcome. Kindly keep in mind that only Liturgical songs and melodies are allowed in the church during the occasion.

  6. Only a total of eight people (photographers, videographers, technicians) are covered in the package. In excess of this, there is a charge of Php 250 per person for use of electrical utilities. Please remind all to refrain from inappropriate movements or noise or the like, that may be distracting as this is a solemn occasion and not just a social event. no photographer or video technician is allowed within the sanctuary during the mass. Photos and videos may be taken on the side of the sanctuary.

  7. The following rules will be strictly enforced, if the wedding party is delayed:

    30 minutes - no Mass, just the wedding rites

    1 Hour late - to re-schedule the wedding

  8. Guest Priest - Please be informed that your choice of a guest priest will require the following:

    Submission of photocopies of the priest's celebret and his valid license (certificate of registration), 30 days prior to the wedding The couple will take care of the stipend of their guest priest. Reminder to the priest of the seventh policy. The priest should also seek delegation from the St. Benedict Parish Priest before the wedding.

  9. Dress Code: decent attire is requested - no plunging neckline, no revealing clothes (backless, strapless, see-through, etc.). Please require your guests to wear shawls should violations of this policy occur.

  10. Releasing birds, butterflies and throwing of rice, coins, flowers, confetti and other objects inside the church are PROHIBITED. These activities may be done OUTSIDE the church.

  11. A wedding rehearsal is encouraged as long as church rules and regulations as stipulated are followed. Please coordinate with Office Secretary for availability of church. Use of air conditioning will incur additional charges. Any extra request/s related to the ceremony is subject for approval of the parish priest.

  12. Arch decorations, candle light decorations, flowers being nailed to pews or to any part of the building structure are not allowed.

  13. All damages incurred during the wedding within the grounds of St. Benedict due to neglect, deliberate acts of otherwise may be charged to the wedding couple (to be settled upon release of the Marriage Certificate).
